Waupaca Foundry is proud to support the next generation of ambitious leaders by providing scholarships to students in Waupaca Foundry communities. This year, we awarded $21,500 to fourteen deserving high school seniors.
Recipients of our 2025 scholarships include:
Waupaca, Wisconsin – Headquarters, two gray iron foundries, and a machining operation.
🎓 Cody Mlodik ($1,000) will be attending Fox Valley Technical College, where he will be pursuing a degree in Welding. His father, Matthew Mlodik, a 29-year employee, works in the Plant 3 Maintenance department as a Foreman Crane Operator.
🎓 Leila Stremkowski ($2,000) will be attending the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to pursue a degree in Social Science. Her father, Scott Stremkowski, a 25-year employee, works as an Assistant Plant Manager.
🎓 Makayla Schwantes ($2,000) will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying Neurobiology. Her father, Josh Schwantes, an 8-year employee, works in the Information Technology (I.T.) department as an IT Manager.
🎓 David Trzebiatowski ($2,000) will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he will major in Electrical Engineering.
Marinette, Wisconsin – A ductile iron foundry and casting finishing division.
🎓 Colin Murphy ($1,000) will be attending Northern Michigan University to pursue a degree in Welding Technology. Colin is the son of Karen and David Murphy.
🎓 Ashtyn Patneaude ($1,000) will be attending Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC), where he will be obtaining a degree in Automation Engineering. Ashtyn is the son of Jamie Wingers, works at Waupaca Foundry’s Employee Clinic as a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist.
Tell City, Indiana – Gray and ductile iron foundry.
🎓 Chase Stephens ($1,500) will be attending the University of Southern Indiana to pursue a degree in Nursing. Chase is the son of Mark Stephens, a 23-year employee, works in Maintenance.
🎓 Abby Throgmorton ($1,500) will be attending the University of Southern Indiana to study Dental Hygiene. Her stepfather, Andrew Dicus, a 14-year employee, works as a Team Leader for the Melt department. Her two brothers, Troy and Travis Throgmorton, both work at Waupaca Foundry as well. Troy works in the Melt department as a Cupola Operator and Travis works as a Furnace Tender for the Ductile Iron side.
🎓 Alex Hurst ($1,500) will be attending Western Kentucky University to pursue a degree in Exercise Science. Her father, Jason Hurst, a 23-year employee, works as an Assistant Maintenance Manager.
🎓 Landen Hubert ($1,500) will be attending Owensboro Community & Technical College to obtain a degree in Industrial Maintenance. Landen’s father, Brad Hubert, a 26-year employee, works in the Maintenance department.
🎓 Naomie Schultz ($1,500) will be attending the University of Southern Indiana to study Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Naomie’s father, Micah Schultz, a 22-year employee, works as an Assistant Production Manager.
🎓 Ethan Ball ($1,500) will be attending Ivy Tech Community College and Brescia University to pursue a degree in Industrial Maintenance and Business Management.
🎓 Abigail Kline ($1,500) will be attending the University of Southern Indiana to obtain a degree in Accounting and Marketing. Her father, Loren Kline, a 22-year employee, works in the Coremaker-Hot Box.
